- Flowers:
The sun came up on a dismal scene
they laid still in the cold grass
Flowers grew nowhere to be seen
As the weeping survivors marched past
Faceless victims of angered minds,
Another number gone to war
many millions lost in time
This crimson paint onward pours
Political battles that go without use
Lives cast away like seeds in the wind
Flowers trampled, gone to hell
die, die, die... too many have died
How many more before the lesson is learned?
Ignore all injury, anguish unseen
Turn the faces and dismiss the pain
Flowers grow nowhere to be seen
When until we all are slain?
- I'll Light a Candle
I'll light a candle for you tonight
May it guide you with its light
Times of heartache seem so long
The darkness is a million nights long
This journey in faith never seemed so hard
You fell too fast and fell too far
But hope lies in you, and in a doctrine that lives
In a belief, and in a God that forgives
This quiet flame, unproclaimed but true
Washes all inquity and purifies you
So release your burden, make your soul light
May this candle burn steadily for you tonight
A sentinel of inner peace and love
With you it waits for both day and sun
I'll pray for you until tomorrrow comes

Deferring Discretion
bare-faced bowls to the drudgery
"I want some more"
pain poured into gauntness, infirm
patients of a deathly illness
ladles empty of compassion
quickly spooned to hungry mouths
not filling - not satisfying
not worth - not real
salty liquid drops make vats
from the what windows of what soul?
Retch apathetic disease away
Roll stagnant world into a ball
Form a bullet, society's debt to pay
Witness changes - watch the Fall
Pierce the darkness and ...
To pluck the eyes of cynicism,
To drip a drop of clarity,
To care a moment enough to matter
- A matter enough to kill -
Before the matter spills
At night
At night I sit and I think about things
I see that ignorance is revered as a king
No one questions in attempt to know
Often our lives no more than a show
Living in bliss is too close to a dream
Things are often not what they seem
Our eyes are covered in a blindfold shroud
Thinking for oneself is no longer allowed
Believe all that you see, and all that you hear
Question nothing, the real truth spears
Jail your mind because someone said
Just like sheep, we are so easily lead
Minds have become a thing of the past
Conceiving a thought is too hard a task
I watch for the dawn that I wish would come
Yet I know that society is blind and numb
Will the sun rise when it is always night
When wrong is not wrong, and right is not right?
Nirvana carries a price we must pay
In our oblivion exists not the new day
